Grand Canyon coming soon!

When you visit the Grand Canyon for the first time, you think you know what to expect. We've all seen a million pictures of it, right? Um, wrong. When you're actually standing on the edge, the unbelievable grandeur of it will blow you away. Guaranteed. I've never felt so insignificant in my entire life. It's actually impossible to capture the vastness in a photo or a painting, but that hasn't stopped me from trying.

This is a large piece, 24" x 48", and is currently about 70% complete. I've blocked in the major shapes, and now I'm adding all the contrast and details that will hopefully give this painting the "wow" factor I'm always looking for. And hopefully, if I'm really lucky, will capture just a little bit of the impossible, breathtaking awesomeness that is standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon.
